What is coaching?

There are many definitions of coaching, yet all of them concentrate on the statement that coaching is a self-development process based on the partnership between Coachee (Customer) & Coach. It is a process which leads the Customers to rediscover, elicit and empower their potential, in order to implement transformational changes in their lives, to achieve their goals successfully.

How does a coach work?

The coaching session is based on the methodologies like active listening, empathic reasoning & asking the Customer relevant questions that will guide her / him to find their own best answers.

The coach represents an empathic approach and full comprehension to the Customers and their history. The coaching session is a safe space with comfortable conditions, where the Customer can feel truly heard and understood, in an open and accepting atmosphere.

What are the benefits of investing in a coaching process?

Working with a coach may enable you to:

  • look at the situations from a new perspective,
  • find or specify the goals in the process of transformation,
  • formulate successful strategies, customized to your own possibilities, step by step,
  • recognize your own resources and their utility in an effective way,
  • retrieve or enhance your motivation to act.

In which areas of my life can I work with a coach?

You can work with a coach in every area of your life where you feel the need for a change or wherever you feel you are stuck in your topic currently.

Coaching is applicable to many areas, for instance, the sphere of relationships with your closed ones, co-workers, or your boss, as well as any personal development topic, or a business issue.

What does a coaching session look like?

The typical coaching session is an individual meeting between the Customer and Coach, with complete acceptance and confidentiality from the Coach perspective.

It takes approx. 50 min and it is based on the Coach actively listening to the Customer, and asking relevant questions, that may lead to self-reflection and finding best usable solutions for them. It is the Customer who acts here as an expert in her / his area of life.

Who can benefit from coaching?

Everyone who feels the need can assign for a coaching session, both online & at location.

Whenever you feel that:

  • you are stuck at any point of your life,
  • you are lacking motivation,
  • you cannot grasp the main goal of your own personal development,
  • you need a change, though you are indecisive, where to

How many meetings with a coach would be recommended?

The amount of coaching sessions is an individual matter and depends primarily on the scope of goals & expectations that Customer comes with for the process.

Certainly , the regularity of the meetings is a very important factor that significantly influences the effectiveness of the whole process.

Do online coaching sessions bring the same value as the at-location meetings?

In current times, when many of the meetings (not only professional ones) have been moved into the online space, online coaching sessions are recognized to deliver the same value as at-location meetings, held in physical space.

We have meanwhile learned to cooperate in this way, moreover it opens us up to so many more new opportunities and reduces many limitations - mainly related with a place of residence, need for driving to the location, thus aligning schedules accordingly.

Having a coaching session in your own, comfortable space can also boost your sense of security & privacy feeling, which surely can have a supportive effect too.

How to prepare for a coaching session?

It is important that you take care of your space upfront, to create a comfortable environment for yourself, so that you will be able to participate in the meeting freely and with full involvement.

Should this be helpful for you before the session, you may want to prepare your list with the most important items that you would like to discuss during the meeting.

Before our first meeting, I will also provide you with a questionnaire (to be filled in optionally), which would be helpful to determine the scope of our cooperation, especially at the beginning.

The idea behind the effective partnership between Customer and a Coach is an open flow communication, leading to questions, and reflections leading to change. Your curiosity, openness and willingness to embark on this journey together would be an essential asset for the whole process.

When can I cancel a session?

There is neither a rigid framework, nor any obligation with regard to the amount of sessions. If you feel that coaching sessions are no longer something that you would need at the moment, you have always the option to withdraw.
